DSD October 26, 2017: "Come Over" - Vox Eagle
Shaun Cordingley
Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.
Come Over - Vox Eagle
I love the description that Vox Eagle has on their SoundCloud profile: "AUS/USA duo making jungle disco music." because I cannot think of a better way to describe "Come Over" than "jungle disco", and it's exactly...whatever that means....
...which I suppose is best explained by you listening to "Come Over" below:
I love the loop in "Come Over": it got me moving (in my seat) before the lyrics had even started...which I have to admit, it's pretty rare that a song that achieves that does not end up on the Daily Song Drop, but I digress...
There are so many different elements to dig in this track, because it has a strange, almost 90s brit-pop feel to it in sections, but blended in with a modern, electro feel to give it a sound that not only stands out, but stands up to repeated play. I have probably listened to "Come Over" about 5 times already today (while writing this) and I am pretty positive that I am going to keep on listening to it while I make dinner.
If you dig "Come Over", check out the rest of Flamingo Paradiso Pt.1 EP, or, as I am writing this, there are rumblings that there is a new single coming (which may have even posted before this DSD posts), so be sure to head on over to the link I've plugged in above and check out more Vox Eagle.
The September 2017 Apple Music Playlist and September 2017 Spotify Playlist are ready! As is tradition, the lists are missing a track ("To Do" (Be Yourself) by LEMZI), but I suppose that's just something that you're going to be used to be now considering the way this always seems to go.
If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or serach for TGF on either Apple Music or Spotify!
See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.
Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig
