DSD June 1, 2017: "Next Time" - Sawyer

Shaun Cordingley

Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.

Next Time - Sawyer

Nashville Indie Pop duo Sawyer have been described/describe themselves as "sparkle pop" and there's something that is just so perfect about that. "Next Time", their latest single, is just so charming and bright that...yeah, sparkle pop.

Check out the track below:

Light, airy harmonies offset by a deceptively complicated guitar and great percussion work all blends together to create a song that just feels nice to listen to. I don't really know how to describe it beyond that, other than it's one of those songs that I like talking about here that just ripples out of your speakers like a warm, summer breeze. "Next Time" is a warm, straightforward, and unpretentious piece of indie pop, and sometimes, that is exactly what we all need.

If you're looking for more of Sawyer's music, I have to recommend their 2016 single  "The Last Thing" which may be the sweetest breakup song I have ever heard.

The DSD Playlist - Apr 17 is now available! We are sadly missing one song from the last month (again), but I'm pretty happy with how this one all came together!

ICYMI (somehow) here is the DSD Playlist - Mar 17 , and there's also one kicking around for DSD Playlist - Feb 17 too!

See you again tomorrow (and that new May Playlist will be available tomorrow as well!)

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.

Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig.
