Left Me Dead - Middle Mountain
I was listening to the July Playlist (linked below for both Apple Music and Spotify), and then took a look through my notes and noticed that it has been a long time since I have posted a laid-back rock song...so I am going to remedy that today with Middle Mountain's "Left Me Dead" off of their latest EP The Perfect Kind of Crazy.

I really enjoy that "Left Me Dead" has a retro feel to it; this is the sort of track that feels like I could be hearing it 40 years ago in a park somewhere. Middle Mountain have fused folk and a laid-back rock sound very well, and this has been one of those songs that has wormed its' way into my head and stayed there for dead. The harmonies/lyrics are catchy, and the laid back (but very well played) backing just works that well together.
Plus, who doesn't like a clever use of classic cartoons.
Here's the July 2017 DSD Playlist! We're missing a few tracks this month, which is sad for the Apple Music folks, but you've still got a really solid list this month (if I do say so myself, which I do...*cough*)
