DSD September 5, 2017: "Right Place Right Time" - A Little Nothing
Shaun Cordingley
Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.
Right Place Right Time - A Little Nothing
German indie pop artist A Little Nothing has created a really beautiful song in "Right Place Right TIme" that combines elements of mellow pop and electro to form something quite excellent.
Check the track out below:
I lover how "Right Place Right Time" hangs together; there is a sweet, pop feel to it when it's relying more on acoustic guitar and xylophone, a bit of synth-y electronic (that does not mess up the tempo at all), and it's all blended together with mellow, near-monotone vocals.
The thing is, it's actually really hard with this track to describe it better than that, other than the fact that you really need to listen to it, or that I would not be surprised if you hear either this song, or some of A Little Nothing's other work in some media form soon (film, tv, ad...something), as it's just so pitch perfect at delivering a light, calm tone.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to listen to "Right Place Right Time" again in the late summer sun.
The August 2017 DSD Playlist is here! This month we are only missing one (1) track, from AL-X the Great, as it is not available...anywhere other than where I put it in here, but it is tradition that we are missing something every month. Also, here is the link to the August '17 Spotify List because....we are on Spotify!
If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or serach for TGF on either Apple Music or Spotify!
See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!
