EP192- Tips for Your First Time Playing a TableTop RPG!
Shaun Cordingley
This week, Shaun (@Shauncord) and Jeremy (@MightyThews) actually answer a pair of very similar questions for Alix and Bobbi having to do with playing your first tabletop RPG.
For simplicity sake, The Guys focus heavily on D&D for beginning players (thanks to the fact that it is probably the most popular system for players, and new players...and because to go across different systems would be a day-long podcast). Now, as Shaun is typically a GM, Jeremy does a lot of the heavy lifting in breaking out four (4!) different starting character builds, but with GM-style support (and jokes), with a particular focus on how to decide on that first character, and how to build a character for narrative purposes as well.
Because Shaun and Jeremy like Narrative.
Then in the second half, The Guys focus in on tips for that first game, what to bring, and some things that you may not think about (but folks who have been gaming for a while, do).
Even if it takes forever, we do love to answer your questions! Hit us up individually on Twitter, together @guysfrompodcast, or via email on our website www.theguysfrom.com (and now that Shaun is fully away from iHorror, they do not need to keep away from horror throughout the year, so keep those questions coming too!)
Special Thanks to The Sweets (www.wearethesweets.com) for our opening music ("Prairie Blues").
Plus, thanks to Kevin MacLeod for "Minstrel Guild" for our advertisement, and "Fearless First" wrapping the episode up.
