DSD October 18, 2017: "Fire" - Fialta
Shaun Cordingley
Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.
Fire - Fialta
California indie pop quartet Fialta returns to theguysfrom.com today (having first appeared on Tuesday Tunes back in August 2016) with their song "Fire" off of their recently released EP Hell Niño as today's Daily Song Drop.
Check out the track below:
"Fire" is an addictively catchy folk pop track that, as with all Fialta songs, is beautifully balanced musically and vocally, even though there is a bit of a departure here in using a bit of that indie-folk "shout harmony", it not only feels like one of their tracks, but is stitched together into a really fun pop package. FIalta is one of those bands that I talk about on here occasionally that you can actually hear that they love playing music together, and thanks to that coming through your speakers, it's hard not to feel that little bit better after listening to "Fire".
Plus, if you're anything like me, you are probably going to be catching yourself singing along to "Fire" on your first listen, and then clicking repeat a few times while you check out the rest of Hell Niño; it's a lush, fun indie pop album from a really great band.
Also, if you are an indie pop/folk fan andhave not checked out their album that I talked about back in August, maybe add Shadow of a Drought to your playlist as well, and get ready to settle in with a group that could easily become a fast favourite (as they have for me).
The September 2017 Apple Music Playlist and September 2017 Spotify Playlist are ready! As is tradition, the lists are missing a track ("To Do" (Be Yourself) by LEMZI), but I suppose that's just something that you're going to be used to be now considering the way this always seems to go.
If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or serach for TGF on either Apple Music or Spotify!
See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!

Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig
