DSD October 31, 2017: "Trip" - SIDI
Shaun Cordingley
Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.
Trip - SIDI
First off HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Hope you get to have a spooky time today!
Anyway, today on the Daily Song Drop we have a super chill electro/pop blend by SIDI called "Trip" off of her debut album Destructable which dropped this July. Check out the official video below:
"Trip" is an excellently balanced chill electronic track, thanks to a simple, but well produced synth-heavy backing to SIDI's lounge-chic vocals. The real standout for me here is SIDI's voice to be honest, as I like the way that the production not only enhances it, but they feel like they could not only fit in a track like "Trip", but that you could also travel back in time and stumble across her in a beautiful art deco club somewhere.
This is a track that I feel is right up the alley of Lana Del Rey fans if they are looking for a sound that has a bit more of a modern (yet still subdued) electro feel to it, and really if you do enjoy "Trip" (especially if you agree with my sentiment about SIDI's voice), then I can also definitely recommend Destruction as a whole, as you get an opportunity to hear SIDI exploring a range of chill electronic and pop sounds.
The September 2017 Apple Music Playlist and September 2017 Spotify Playlist are ready! As is tradition, the lists are missing a track ("To Do" (Be Yourself) by LEMZI), but I suppose that's just something that you're going to be used to be now considering the way this always seems to go.
If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or serach for TGF on either Apple Music or Spotify!
See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.
Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig
