All I Want For Christmas (Is To Be With You) - Lisa Prank & Seattle's Little Helpers
First off: Merry Christmas! I know we usually take a break around the holidays, but this year it just...didn't feel right (plus that December/January playlist nonsense almost killed me every year), so we continue!
Second: for a bit of fun, Seattle pop-punk artist Lisa Prank, and members of Tacocat and Dogbreath got together to release a fun little Christmas EP on Father/Daughter records called Gimme What I Want, and I figure that, if I was going to do a Daily Song Drop today, I would make sure that it not only fit our vibe here, but it had to be Christmas-y...and "All I Want For Christmas (Is To Be With You) does that perfectly.
Check out the track below:
"All I Want For Christmas" is a really sweet, subtle pop-punk track, complete with all the electric guitar and sleigh bells that it needs to be absolutely perfect for DSD fans' holiday today. The vocals are sweet, the message/lyrics are sweet, and it's just that right balance between indie pop-punk rock and seasonal that...well really, this is the perfect Christmas song for us here at theguysfrom.com....
...and who doesn't love pop-punk with bells?
Humbugs. That's who.
If you dig "All I Want For Christmas" be sure that you check out/pick up Gimme What I Want, as you cannot go wrong with any of the three tracks (four, if you count the very pretty acoustic version of this song).
And again: Merry Christmas!
Here is the November Apple Music Playlist, and the November Spotify Playlist! I'm pretty happy with the flow on this one (and it was, for a change, a bit easier to put together thanks to how the tracks fit together). I also feel like this playlist has just the right amount of variation in it to make it awesome for any and all holiday travelling that you may have coming up...
If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or search for theguysfrom on either Apple Music or Spotify!
See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!
