DSD March 9, 2017- "Friends" - Marsicans

Shaun Cordingley

Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.

Friends - Marsicans

Longtime readers of theguysfrom.com will definitely recognize the Marsicans, as I believe this Leeds based indie pop rock band are now my most featured band on here (having talked about them in February, May, and September of 2016), but hey, if they keep producing tracks like "Friends", and I keep not hearing about them from other people, I'll keep featuring them;

"Friends" is a heavier, more "rock" sounding track for the band, yet still features their trademark, warm, harmony heavy vocals, and clever tempo shifts; give "Friends" a listen below:

At the end of the day, I'm starting to run out of things I can say about Marsicans, as I have said it all before, but I really can't stress enough how wonderfully happy I have been having their upbeat and fun indie rock in my life for the last year. If you enjoy "Friends", do check out their album The Absence that they released last year--it has a pile of the tracks I've talked about on it, but also shows off the range of their sound (particularly in the excellent title track).

I keep saying this this week, but if you are lucky enough to be in the UK this month, Marsicans are also touring, so hopefully you'll have a chance to check them out live.

Well, I tried my best (...like I actually have control over anything when it comes to Apple Music), and even though we are missing a couple of tracks, the DSD Playlist - Feb 17 is out now, and it's pretty damn great.
Hope you enjoy it too!

Remember, if you want me to expand where I put these playlists beyond Apple Music, you just need to let me know on Twitter, and I'll see what I can do.
