DSD March 8, 2017: "Gave You All" - HAUS

Shaun Cordingley

Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.

Gave You All - HAUS

London's HAUS returns today (having first been mentioned back when I was still doing "Tuseday Tunes" in November 2016) with their latest single "Give You All". This song is just further proof to me that HAUS deserves to have your attention as they continue to develop and play within their sound. "Give You All" is a more subdued alt-pop feeling track, that still has that unique balance of instruments and vocals that makes HAUS, HAUS.

Check out "Give You All" below:

Honestly, the scale of "Give You All" clinches my attention: the light use of harmony, and the precise sonic layering they execute to build the track without making a dramatic tempo shift (while still infusing more energy into the track) is really quite special.
In the end, I also have to say that Ashley Mulimba is becoming one of my favorite lead vocalists in the indie scene today; unique sound, balanced and thoughtful sounding rhythm, and a blend of a bunch of different genres (and eras) all at once...

Hopefully there will be an EP or album soon, and (again, just like yesterday) HAUS is going to headline an UK tour in April which, if anyone reading this has a chance to see them, please do let me know how it was....

Well, I tried my best (...like I actually have control over anything when it comes to Apple Music), and even though we are missing a couple of tracks, the DSD Playlist - Feb 17 is out now, and it's pretty damn great.
Hope you enjoy it too!

Remember, if you want me to expand where I put these playlists beyond Apple Music, you just need to let me know on Twitter, and I'll see what I can do.
