DSD June 5, 2017: "Tierp" - My heart is a metronome
Shaun Cordingley
Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.
Tierp - My heart is a metronome
Swedish alt-rock band My heart is a metronome released their EP Tierp in February, and the title song is a very enjoyable, mellow rock track.
Check out the official video below:
My heart is a metronome has a really cool sound to them, as "Tierp" combines a lot of excellent work on guitar, key and drums that sounds very much like a modern indie alt band, but their lead singer Mattis Malinen (who is also the drummer, which is always awesome) has a real, early 2000s rock sound to him, and the combination creates a distinct sound. "Tierp" is so catchy, that I have found myself just randomly humming it from time to time, even after the first time I listened to it.
I feel like we are probably going to hear more from My heart is a metronome as more and more folks discover them, but for now, be sure that you check out Tierp, as if you like the title song, you will not be disappointed.
Here's the May 2017 DSD Playlist! We're only missing one track this month (and I'll hopefully be able to add it in later)! It's wonderful, as always, but that should be assumed when I'm making playlists of nothing but songs I enjoy...
Come on back tomorrow for our next Song of the Day!

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.
Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig.
