Feel Like That - Cheerleader
The first time I heard "Feel Like That" by Cheerleader, I was sitting at my workstation (which is a nice way I talk about the table and stool I work on) and it was 30 degrees outside (Celcius), and about 36 degrees inside, and this warm, hazy pop rock just seemed to fit exactly into what was going on for me at that moment.

This quintet from Philadelphia have really nailed a good, hazy summer pop-rock sound in "Feel Like That": the guitar is just the right blend of fuzz and uptempo to keep the track moving, the percussion keeps the pace up, while the almost laid-back lyrics just sort of melt along the track. Not only does this all work together to make the song catchy as hell, but it means that it just feels perfect for hanging out on an oppressively hot day in the city (and frankly, that is a sort of indie pop rock that we could use more of).
If I do actually get to sit down and make a "Summer 17" playlist for y'all, I can promise you that "Feel Like That" will feature
If you dig this track, be sure to check out the B-Side "Waiting Waiting" for a more mellow haze pop song, or maybe reach back to some of their earlier releases like "The Sunshine of Your Youth" from the album of the same name. Quite frankly, you cannot go wrong with anything Cheerleader if you're looking for more summer-perfect indie rock.
