I (weirdly) don't talk about EDM on the Daily Song Drop a lot, considering my background, but today to wrap up this week, I thought we could enjoy the latest release by Swedish DJ Tobias Karlsson AKA Tobtok called "On My Way", which you can check out below:
"On My Way" is an expertly constructed combination of house and nu-disco elements, combined with a light tropical flair to give the track an upbeat, summery vibe perfect to help shake off the dead-of-winter blues. The vocals are the best kind of catchy (I'm singing along pretty much every time I hear the track at this point), and this track has party anthem written all over it.
I know I say it a lot when I talk about tracks like "On My Way", but it would be a high rotation party track for me, were I still spinning. The vibe Tobtok coaxes out of this song (thanks in part to the aforementioned tropical additions) is exactly what I always look for when it comes to feel-good, often summer, party tracks.
I hope this track explodes, because Tobtok really deserves to get recognition for a production this good.
