DSD January 30, 2018: "I Know" - Bayonne
Shaun Cordingley
Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear. If you enjoy the track, please share it, so we can keep on talking about great new music!
I Know - Bayonne
You know, it's kind of funny...I talked earlier this month about how I had not been sharing as much indie electronic as I thought I would when I first started (considering my background), and since then I have been coming across a lot of great electronic tracks.
Case in point: today we are going to talk about "I Know" by Austin-based Bayonne, which you can check out below:
The looping on "I Know" is fantastic; it actually is quite amazing what Bayonne does by himself in creating layer upon layer (vocals, keys, beat, etc.) to create an intricate, yet not cluttered electro-pop track. This is one of those songs that I stumble across every once in a while and it ends up on repeat for me for most of the rest of the day-- I even caught myself whistling "I Know" as I was getting some of my work done. It's catchy, it's well produced, and it's just one of those songs from an up-and-coming artist that deserves more listens.
If this is your first introduction to Bayonne, then I suggest checking out some of his earlier releases, with a favourite of mine being the lush and energetic "Fallss".
For the first time ever on theguysfrom.com, here is the December Apple Music Playlist, and the December '17 Spotify Playlist! I decided that, rather than making myself crazy with a hybrid list between the two months (and thanks to the fact that I did a feature-full month) I would put this one together, which just means that the January playlist will be a tad shorter than most thanks to the TGF Top 50 Songs of 2017 (with the in countdown order Apple Music TGF Top 50 Songs of 2017 as Well as the Spotify TGF Top 50 Songs of 2017 playlists here)
If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or search for theguysfrom on either Apple Music or Spotify!
See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!

Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig.
