DSD March 22, 2018: "Eat Me Whole" - Sea Girls
Shaun Cordingley
Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear. If you enjoy the track, please share it, so we can keep on talking about great new music!
Eat Me Whole - Sea Girls
Today on the Daily Song Drop we have the latest single from London based indie alt rock foursome Sea Girls called "Eat Me Whole".
Check the track out below:
There's just something so awesome about a well-executed alt-rock song--"Eat Me Whole" has absolutely everything one should be looking for in indie alt-rock...excellent production, which balances the electric guitar and drums perfectly to allow the catchy-as-hell vocals to shine. This is one of those songs that I just crying out to be played at a fun, rock-vibe house party, as "Eat Me Whole" is one of those indie anthems that is going to be absolutely amazing live, with a bunch of fans, yelling along with the kick ass sound.
It even has a good ol' fashioned guitar & drum duo that keeps the energy of the track alive, and kicking, and helps to bring the song home.
It is not a surprise to me at all that both NME and Huw Stephens at Radio 1 picked out Sea Girls as a band to watch for 2018, and I would be very surprised if we do not hear a whole lot of this smashing band in the future.
If you're looking for a few other tracks to enjoy outside of "Eat Me Whole" be sure to check out "Heavenly War" and the sweetly mellow "Favourite Colour".
The February 2018 DSD Apple Music List and February 2018 DSD Spotify List are available! These ones where admittedly tricky as it is a short month (meaning there are fewer songs for me to build the set with), and we are also missing a couple from the lists: "Coward's Castle" by Monti and "highr" by buuzey. However, I have to say that I do enjoy the playlist this month, and I hope you will check it out (at the links above), and share it with your friends!
If you're looking for any of our past playlists, be sure to check out a Friday DSD feature, or search for theguysfrom on either Apple Music or Spotify!
See you tomorrow for our next Daily Song Drop!
