DSD March 30, 2018: "Lost Time" - Wild Cards
Shaun Cordingley
Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear. If you enjoy the TGF Playlists, it would help us out a lot if you could share them with folks, as with the new algorithms on Facebook and Instagram, TGF is having to fight harder for traffic, so if you enjoy the DSD, sharing the songs (articles) or lists is something you could do that can really make a difference!
Lost Time - Wild Cards
Vancouver-based indie EDM duo Wild Cards recently released a great track that I thought would be perfect for the long weekend called "Lost Time".
Check it out below:
"Lost Time" is an EDM song that had me singing along to the lyrics so damn fast...it's just the right balance between repetitive and engaging, thanks in large part to the emotionally honest vocals telling a story that, well let's face it, almost all of us can relate to. Musically, Wild Cards throw so much into the track that it almost shouldn't work, but there's a great punch in "Lost Time" to get you moving, but there's also a lot of shifts in pace which serve the track particularly well as it continues to feel new and exciting as you listen to it, and pick out a new point of synth, or guitar, or, just let yourself go and enjoy the whole thing as a great indie dance song.
If this is your first introduction to Wild Cards, be sure to check out some of their earlier work, including the richly cinematic "Falling Down ft. James Delaney".
The March 2018 DSD Apple Music Playlist and the March 2018 DSD Spotify Playlist are now available! Once again, we are missing a few of tracks this month, those being "Dungeons" - Malik, "EPIPHANY" by Pizzo Da LP, and "One Night in Tokyo" - The New Division (though this is due to the fact that the new album does not drop until the end of May). Even though there are a few gaps that made constructing the list a bit tricky, I think it turned out pretty well and I hope you will check it out, either by clicking the links above, or you can always listen to the Spotify list here:
ICYMI (somehow) here are the February 2018 DSD Apple Music List, January 2018 Apple Music Playlist, December Apple Music Playlist, November Apple Music Playlist, October 2017 Apple Music Playlist, September 2017 Apple Music Playlist August 2017 DSD Playlist July 2017 DSD Playlist, June 2017 DSD Playlist, May 2017 DSD Playlist DSD Playlist - Apr 17, and there's also one kicking around for DSD Playlist - Mar 17 too!

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.
Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig.
