DSD June 28, 2017: "Until You Feel Good" - San Mei
Shaun Cordingley
Welcome to the "Daily Song Drop": theguysfrom.com's song of the day feature where our resident indie music writer and former DJ Shaun Cordingley features a song every weekday that he feels you need to hear.
Until You Feel Good - San Mei
Gold Coast based solo project of Emily Hamilton, San Mei gives us a fuzzy, dreamy slice of indie pop which is all sorts of awesome, especially when we are talking about her latest single "Until You Feel Good".
Check the track out below:
What I really appreciate about "Until You Feel Good" is that it never shies away from just losing itself completely in a dreamy sound, which is just the right balance between hazy, sun-soaked indie pop, with a more grounded vibe thanks to its' use of electric guitar. That guitar makes all the difference in balancing "Until You Feel Good" musically, as well as elevating it into a 'must-listen' song. It's weird that a title is prophetic, but you either don't like this genre of music, or you're completely dead inside if "Until You Feel Good" does not perk you up (at least a little bit).
I know I've been saying this a lot, but "Until You Feel Good" is a song that needs to be on any indie pop fans' summer playlist this year, and frankly, if you enjoy this, you should probably tumble down the San Mei rabbit-hole and check out some of her other work (with "Revel" being a personal favourite).
Here's the May 2017 DSD Playlist! We're only missing one track this month (and I'll hopefully be able to add it in later)! It's wonderful, as always, but that should be assumed when I'm making playlists of nothing but songs I enjoy...
Come on back tomorrow for our next Song of the Day!

The Guys From do not hold the rights to any "Daily Song Drop" songs, it is more our hope to expose our readers to new and different music that we are enjoying, or re-expose them to artists they may have forgotten about.
Above the description of the song will be the song name, followed by the artists' name linked to their website, so you can fall down the rabbit hole, finding and supporting what you dig.
